In this step, you will assign Task List to Material type in SAP Quality Management. The assignment of task list type to material type determines an inspection plan can be created for material or not.
How to Assign Task List Types to Material Types in SAP
You can assign task list types to material types in SAP by using the following navigation method.

Step 1: Execute transaction code “SPRO” and click on “SAP Reference IMG”
Step 2: On the display IMG screen, follow the IMG navigation Quality Management – Quality Planning – Inspection Planning – General and execute “Assign Task List Types to Material Types“.
Step 3: On change view “Change view Assignment of Material Types” overview screen displays a list of task list types assigned to the material type.
The standard S4Hana system delivers various standard material types that already form the combination with task lists. When you define a new material type that will have quality implications, you need to make sure to do the necessary configuration for the inspection plan.
Click on the New entries button for the assignment of Task Lisk to material type.
Step 4: On the new entries assignment of material types screen, update the following details
- TLType: Enter the task list type for assignment to material type
- MType: Update the Material type for the assignment
- Press enter to continue; automatically, the Task list type and Material Type description will be updated by the SAP system.
Click on the Save button and save the assignment details.
Successfully we have assigned task list type to material type in the SAP Hana system.
