SE16N or SE16 is a transaction code used to view SAP Tables data, so SE16N and SE16 are powerful SAP transaction codes for viewing the data in the SAP system.

What is SE16?

SE16 is called a data browser, it is a standard transaction code that helps the users to extract, view, and print the SAP tables data.

How to execute SE16 in SAP

1. Open SAP GUI > Login to SAP using your user id and password

 

2. On the command field, enter the transaction code ‘SE16’, or if you are on screen enter the transaction code as /nSE16

3. On the data browser screen, enter the table name that you want to execute. For example, if you want to view BSEG table data, you need to enter here BSEG under the table name.

4. Select the required field, or if you want to display data for all fields click on Select All (F9). deselect unwanted fields and execute.

Note: You can select up to 40 fields only.

5. To get specific required data, enter the values and execute.

SE16N in SAP is a general table display, also called enjoy transaction code with advanced features and functionalities for table data analysis.

Difference between SE16 & SE16n transaction codes

Both SE16 and SE16n transaction codes are used to view the database, the difference between the SE16 and SE16n are as follows:

  • SE16 is a classic transaction, and SE16n is an enjoy transaction
  • SE16 is an older version, SE16n is a new version
  • The user interface, where SE16 displays with basic data and SE16n display with ALV and with advanced features
  • Table data can be updated through the SE16n.
