What is Organization Unit in SAP HR
Organizational Unit in SAP defines as a department, division, or any functional unit of company. For example: HR, Finance, etc which represent a separate organizational unit in the SAP system.
How to Create Organizational Unit in SAP HR
The following training tutorials guide you how to create new organizational unit in SAP step by step. This transaction code “PPOCE” allows to creation of a root organizational unit.
- SAP Menu: – Human resources > Organizational Management > Organizational plan >Organization & staffing > Create
- Transaction code: – PPOCE
Step 1: Enter transaction code: – PPOCE” in the SAP command field and press enter.
Step 2: – In the next screen, you are asked to update the organizational valid period. By default, the date will be as the creating date of the organizational unit and valid up to 31.12.9999. Click on the check mark to continue.
Note: You need to provide the validity date from which date it is valid. For example: If you provide the date as ‘01.01.2025’, then it is applicable from the given date.
Step 3: – In the next screen, the new organizational unit is displayed in both overviews.
In the details screen, update therequired details of a new organizational unit.
Click on account assignment and update the controlling area, cost center, business area, company code, personnel area, and personnel sub-area fields.
Click on the save button to save the configured new organizational unit in SAP HR.
