How to define a number ranges for Inspection characteristics in SAP QM
You can maintain a number ranges for characteristics in SAP by using the following navigation method

Transaction code | SPRO |
Step 1: Execute SAP Transaction code “SPRO” and choose “SAP Reference IMG”
Step 2: On the Display IMG screen, follow the navigation menu path and double click on “Define Number Ranges”
Step 3: On choose activity screen, click on “Number Ranges for Inspection Characteristics”
Step 4: On Edit Intervals: QSS Inspection Char, Object QMERKMALE, enter the plant key and click on change intervals.
Step 5: On Edit intervals: QSS: Inspection Char, Object QMERKMALE, Subject AP01, update the following detail.
- NO: Enter the number that identifies the number range for inspection characteristics.
- From No: Update the starting number of inspection characteristics number range.
- To Number: Update the last number of inspection characteristics number range.
- Ext: Check this field only if you want to use this number range for external assignments.
Click on the Save button and save the details.
How to define number ranges Inspection Method
Step 1: Go to back to display IMG screen: Quality Management > Quality Planning > Basic Data > Inspection Characteristic, Inspection Method > Define Number Ranges > and select “Number Ranges for Inspection Methods”
Step 2: On Edit Intervals: QM test methods, object QMETHODEN screen, update the plant key, and click on intervals button to maintain the number range intervals for inspection methods.
Step 3: On Edit Intervals: QM Test methods, Object QMETHODEN, Subobject AP01, update Number range no, From Number, To Number, and press enter to continue
Click on the Save button and save the configured number ranges for inspection methods in SAP Hana system.
