The work center in EWM is a physical location used for various activities of Packing, deconsolidation, and other services. Different types of work centers based on work centers’ layout can be defined in embedded EWM.

How to define work centers in SAP S/4Hana EWM

You can define work centers in the SAP S/4Hana system, by using the following configuration steps

IMG path: SPRO > SAP Reference IMG > SCM Extended Warehouse Management > Extended Warehouse Management > Master Data > Work Centers > Define Work Center

Step 1: Execute transaction code “SPRO” and

Step 2: Choose the option “SAP Reference IMG“.

Step 3: From the Display IMG screen, Follow the IMG Path and execute the IMG activity “Define Work Center.

Step 4: From the change view “Define Work Center” overview screen, click on the new entries option to define the new work center in Embedded EWM.

Step 5: On new entries definition of work center screen, update the following details.

  • Warehouse: Enter the warehouse Number
  • Work Center: Enter the key that defines the work center in SAP EWM.

  • Storage Type: Update the storage type
  • Inbound Section: Update the inbound storage section of the work center

After maintaining the required details for the work center, click on the save icon and save the details.
