How to Assign Company Code to Company in SAP

As per the FI enterprise structure, after you define a company and company code, the next step is to assign this company code to company. This assignment configuration enables to establish a link between the company and company codes.

• A company can consist of one or more company codes i.e. multiple company codes can assigned under one company.
• One company code can be assigned to only one company.

Before assigning company code to a company, you need to configure the following organizational units in the SAP system

1. Company
2. Company code

• Menu Path:– SPRO –> IMG Reference –> Enterprise Structure –> Assignment –> Financial Accounting –> Assign Company Code To Company
• Transaction Code:- OX16

The following are the steps to Assign the Company Code to the Company in SAP FICO

Step 1:- Enter the T-Code SPRO in the commend field and enter to continue

Step 2:- Click SAP Reference IMG

Step 3:- Follow the SAP IMG menu Path as per the below screenshot

Step 4:- Click Position

Update the company code for which you want to assign and Enter

Step 5:- Update the Company ID in the Company field and click on the save icon

Thus company code AD06 was assigned to Company ADARSH.

Assignment of Company code to company in SAP S4 Hana System

Step 1: Login into the S4 Hana system using your login credentials.

Step 2: Execute the transaction code ‘OX15’

Step 3: On change view ‘assignment of company code to company overview, it displays the list of company codes that are defined in the system. So you can directly update the company key for your company code.

To Find your company code from the list of company codes –> click on the position key, give your company code key and press enter.

For example: Our company code is AD06, so we have entered the AD06.

Step 4: Enter the company key next to the company code and click on the save icon.

Step 5: System prompts the customizing request number, select the request from the list and press enter to continue to save the details.

Successfully company code was assigned to a company in the SAP S4 Hana system.
